We all dress differently, and we all listen to different music, but one thing team Vint Street has in common is that we absolutely love all things retro and vintage. It makes the job a bit easier.
So, we wanted to give a special mention to some of our favourite pieces.
From games to denim, and one of the greatest records of all time, here are our current staff picks.
Chris: Taking us back to 2001 with a vintage Burberry jacket
Ok, I know we said Beau made a great pick but Chris is really giving him a run for his money.
How often do you see noughties vintage, still in its original packaging, unworn, and from none other than British luxury fashion house, Burberry?
Need we say more?
You’ve got a chance to be the first person to ever wear this vintage Burberry denim… if you can bring yourself to take it out of the packaging.
It’s a deep shade of indigo with brown stitching details and silver buttons. It’s bound to turn some heads. It turned Chris’s.
Tommy: Banging on about Pink Floyd’s best album ever
Pink Floyd, The Dark Side Of The Moon – 12″ Vinyl
£400.00We’re whizzing from the early noughties to way back when in 1973. Got whiplash yet?
The Paris Peace Accord has just been signed to end the American/Vietnam war.
The world’s first mobile phone call is made in NYC.
Tommy isn’t actually born yet, but something’s about to happen that he’ll be talking about in 50+ years’ time.
The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd.
Undoubtedly one of the most iconic records of all time, definitely one of the most iconic covers, and 100% one of Tommy’s favourite ever albums.
We’ve got our hands on an original copy here, the record itself is in excellent shape, the cover is impeccable, and Brucie bonus, the posters inside are 10/10.
“Definitely not a cheap record, however, it is priceless for me.”
I couldn’t have said it better myself Tommy. Maybe you should try writing this blog next time.
Amy: Making a Statement in 90s Moschino
Moschino Casino Print Jeans, Red/Multicolour – S(30)
£599.00Moschino is the designer equivalent of Marmite. Their clothes are tastefully distasteful, with all kinds of loud prints and graphics.
These vintage Moschino jeans are no exception.
Bright red with a casino/slot machine print all over, these Moschino jeans are from a collection in the late 90s. If you want to make a statement, this is the denim for you.
Amy said she “can’t wait to see who buys them as these jeans are absolutely nuts”.
If you cop these, we need to see a pic on your socials, please!
Will: Going ham for retro games
Video Computer System by Atari – CX-2600 – 1980
£400.00Will is one of our resident gaming experts, so it should be no surprise he went for this classic console.
Hailing from the golden age of gaming, this 1980 release Atari CX-2600 is an icon.
It’s the home of nostalgic games like Asteroids, Centipede, and Yar’s Revenge, and it’s a must-have for anyone who knows anything about retro gaming.
Our Atari CX-2600 includes games like Pac-Man, Street Racer and, let’s not forget, Space Invaders.
Beth: All about Avirex at the moment
This brand has been around for donkey’s years, but everyone seems to be talking about it right now.
Originally a manufacturer of leather jackets for the US military, in the mid-70s Avirex decided to bring their jackets to the general consumer, and boy oh boy, wasn’t that a good idea.
I happen to have a thing for vintage varsity jackets. So, this vintage Avirex bomber jacket is definitely my hot pick.
Soft blue leather, a tough collar and plenty of pockets for my phone and stuff, this vintage Avirex jacket is a bit of me.
I love the vintage varsity labels inside, one of them even has space to write your name, position and locker number. Chef’s kiss.
Beau: Zany zapper and duck hunt delight
Zapper – VGA 80+ – NES Original UK Zapper – Sealed and Graded
£2,500.00When I asked Beau for his top-pick, he sent me about 20. We managed to narrow it down to this one. A Duck Hunt Nintendo Gun.
Still sealed in the original packaging from 1989, this NES zapper gun is in fresh-out-the-factory condition.
Beau is “overcome with nostalgia every time he lays his eyes on this”.
Playing Nintendo Duck Hunt was his first experience of proper gaming, so you can’t blame him for sneaking in a second item.
