Bioceramic MoonSwatch Collection

Omega and Swatch knew that collaborations turn heads, so they partnered together for this collection of colourful Speedmaster watches. There are 11 pieces, named after all of the planets plus the sun and the moon (and yes, they counted Pluto as one of the planets). The watches are made from Swatch's specially developed material, Bioceramic, which combines ceramic and bio-sourced plastic for brilliant longevity. If you're wondering why a high-end watchmaker like Omega partnered with an entry-level watch manufacturer like Swatch, there are actually a few reasons. Omega knew their Speedmaster watch was an icon in the Swiss watch industry, but they also recognised Swatch as an icon in its own right. Swatch is said to have saved the Swiss watch industry at a time when most other brands were only focussing on luxury; Swatch was there innovating for those with tighter purse strings. Omega was also happy that this collaboration was a chance to create something new together and not just a logo-swapping marketing stunt. These watches are only available at certain Swatch stores, and purchases are limited to one watch per person, per day. It's taken our collector sometime to get their hands on these.
