We loved writing about 2024’s subcultures last year, so this year, we’re looking at 2025 fashion trends.
Based on the runway, social media and some growing search trends on Pinterest and Google Trends, here are some of our 2025 fashion trend predictions.
Athleisure, again
This one doesn’t seem to be going out of style. It’s back in 2025, and chicer than ever.
The runway is full of sweatpants, ballet cardigans and cycling shorts. Tory Burch models were dressed as if they were leaving a swim lesson and at Miu Miu, it was all about tracksuit jackets. If you want to do athleisure on a budget, stick to iconic sportswear brands like Nike and adidas, and make it retro.
Our athleisure pick
Remember icons like Lady Di if you’re looking for styling tips. She was pairing sporty sweatshirts with hot pants and trainers whilst some of us were still crawling around in nappies.
Coastal classic/fisherman core
This one’s part fisherman part East Coast preppiness. It started on the runways of Loewe, Ralph Lauren and Miu Miu, and from there, it spread to Pinterest’s annual ‘Pinterest Predicts‘ trend report. You heard it there first, Fisherman Core is one to watch.
Think white and blue stripes, jumpers tied over shoulders and thick knits. Props for adding boat shoes and windbreakers, too. Props if you know how to fish, as well, but it’s not strictly necessary.
You can even take this trend one step further, with playful accessories like fish-shaped jewellery and sea-themed printed scarfs. This one has us hook, line and sinker.
Our fisherman core picks
It really doesn’t get any more fisherman than a striped jumper. Let alone a navy and white one. This number is even from Henri-Lloyd, a British company that specialises in clothing for sailing and all things nautical.
And one more from Henri Lloyd, because it wouldn’t be a fisherman fit without a yellow mac. This one’s not just for show, either. It’s made with wind-breaking GoreTex, with toggles along the bottom to keep you nice and dry.
Butter yellow
Don’t you just love it when a whole colour becomes a trend? It’s so easy to jump on this one.
Butter yellow is 2025’s answer to beige, and aren’t we happy to see something brighter blossoming this Spring?
Butter yellow is subtle and classy enough to work into your timeless, curated wardrobe. It can easily be a neutral… without being so, well, neutral.
It’s delicate and easy to layer with other colours. Butter yellow works with beiges, denim, chocolate browns and navy.
Turns out white, cream and grey aren’t the only neutrals. Butter yellow is joining them. Make way for the colour of the year.
The best of butter yellow
A crisp, butter-yellow shirt with classy, pearly buttons and a smart collar. Pair this with your navy suit if you want a change-up from the usual white.
When butter yellow pairs with preppy, chef’s kiss. Imagine this one slung around your shoulders whilst you play a round of golf. Classy, smart and so 2025.
Women's workwear
Long gone are the days of pencil skirts and crazy high heels. The working woman’s outfit is changing to something way more comfortable.
The Victoria Beckham and Saint Laurent runways are showing us how it’s done. Think smart, wide-legged trousers, oversized blazers and crisp shirts. Chuck on a pair of loafers and a tie, and you’re on the money.
If that sounds like menswear to you, you’re not wrong. But why let the boys have all the fun?
Pinstriped perfection
Boxy, boyish, and brown. Three buzzwords that are perfect for this trend. With this Versace blazer on your shoulders, you’ll be screaming CEO without saying a word.
The miniskirt
Ok, maybe this one never really went out of fashion… Since that day in the 60s when Twiggy caused some controversy with her pins, we’ve been hooked.
If you love the liberation of getting some leg out, 2025 is your year, miniskirts are definitely on the menu. When picking your piece for this season, pair it with something that gives you a striking silhouette. From puffy-sleeved blouses to a blazer and shoulder pads, it’s all about balance.
A statement-making mini
It’s mini, it’s designer vintage, and it’s still got the tags on. Need we say anymore? This skirt is simultaneously short but smart. With the gold buttons and boucle material, we think you could even get away with this in the office. Just prepare to turn some heads.
American classics
Club Americana is back, and boy aren’t we happy about it. The stars and stripes were all over the runway this year, along with All-American varsity jackets, workwear and denim.
Look for brands like Levi’s, Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren. The more vintage, the better.
The best of the US
It was a struggle to pick our favourite pieces for this one. We have so much to give when it comes to vintage American clothing, but we managed to nail it down…
Vintage Tommy Hilfiger jeans, with red, white and blue all over the back pocket. Classic denim and classic Americana.
The brand that’s (maybe) more synonymous with the USA than any other? Ralph Lauren. And this piece is a prime example. Stars, stripes, and that effortlessly chic East Coast feel.
Picture-perfect plaid
This one’s not for everyone, but plaid is going to be the print of the season. From picnic-style Gingham to the classic plaid shirt or blazer, you’re going to want a piece of this.
Whether you go for cool pastel tones or a more traditional brown and green combo, plaid can be surprisingly chic.
Our plaid pick
It’s plaid, western and super soft. This Wrangler shirt is that shirt that will stick in your wardrobe for the next 30 years, and never go out of style.
